Welcome to Bedford Borough Council's online household response page

About This Site

Each year the Electoral Registration Officer is required to contact properties within the Borough to check who is eligible to vote. You can reply using this online system. The online system is similar to the traditional paper form in that only person per property can respond. If we hold email addresses for more than one resident at a property, any e-communications will go to all residents but only one can reply on behalf of the household. This service is to be used to update or confirm the details of eligible voters at an address in Bedford Borough.

More information about the canvass process can be found on our website.

You will need the security codes printed on the Canvass Communication form sent either via email or by post to the property addressed to "The Occupier."

**Adding a name to the form will not register that person to vote, they must complete an Individual Registration Form as well. This can be done after you have responded to the Canvass Communication by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. Registering takes around 5 minutes. In order to register to vote, new residents will need their National Insurance number (if they have one) and to provide their date of birth.**

Registering is quick and simple. It means you will have the right to vote at elections and referendums and being on the electoral register can also improve your credit score.

If you do not wish to respond electronically, a paper form will be sent out to the property in the autumn or you can call us on 01234 718078or email canvass@bedford.gov.uk
